About Fredericia

Fredericia is on the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. Founded by and named after Frederick III in 1650, it was Denmark's first planned city, and an important military stronghold, as the fortified city walls, fortress, cannons and historic buildings still testify.

Fredericia's attractions, pedestrianised shopping areas, cafés and beautiful sandy beaches are all easily accessible by foot, or on a bike. How about a one-hour stroll around the city walls, followed by a paddle on the Blue Flag Eastern Beach? Or, a climb up the White Water Tower, built on the ramparts, which will take your breath away, in both senses. The far-reaching views over the town, ramparts and the Little Belt strait, between mainland Denmark and the island of Funen, are splendid and can be enjoyed over a picnic lunch at one of the picnic tables in situ.
